Fr. Juan Carlos M. Tejada was born on September 25
th, 1985, in San Jose Villanueva, Department of La Libertad, in the Republic of El Salvador. He is the oldest of two brothers, Ricardo and Alexis, and three sisters, Carolina, Blanca and Tatiana.
"I felt the call to the priesthood when I was ten years old. This call has been motivated by the life and works of Blessed Oscar Arnulfo Romero." It all started since he was an altar boy in his home parish. He entered the preparatory seminary in 2004. A year later, He began philosophy school at the Seminary
San Juan XXIII, Department of Santa Ana. After completing a semester of Philosophy, he was sent to Mexico City to continue his priestly formation. He then finished Philosophy at the Higher Institute of Ecclesiastical Studies (ISEE) in 2008. In the same year, he continued his priestly formation at Assumption Seminary and also theological studies in San Antonio, Texas. He culminated his theological studies at Oblate School of Theology.
He was presented at the San Salvador Cathedral, on May 30
th, 2015, as the son of the local church of San José Villanueva. "On that day, I donated my life to the Universal Church in the Order of Deacons, by invocation of the Holy Spirit and imposition of hands of the Archbishop José Luis Escobar Alas, Archdiocese of San Salvador." Graciously, he was ordained priest at his home parish, on June 18
th, 2016, in the Jubilee Year of Mercy, for the glory of God and the service of His people.
