I am Fr. Prasanna Mese, I was born on September 24, 1982 to Chinnappa and Theresamma in Thadipatri, Annatapur district, Andrapradesh, (south) India. I have two brothers and sisters.
When I was studying in elementary school I was inspired to join seminary by my uncle, who was a catechist. I started seminary studies at St. Pius 10th Seminary in 1997 and finished my philosophy in St. John's Major Seminary, Kurnool, Andrapradesh and theology in Vijnananilayam, Eluru, Andrapradesh.
I was ordained on April 19th, 2010 at the diocese of Kurnool, Andrapradesh, India. I began my priestly ministry at St. Antony's orphanage, Adoni, Kurnool. For a few months I also worked as a pastor at St. Peters church, Pedda Kaduburu, Kurnol. Then I was offered a great opportunity to serve in the United States. I was asked by Archbishop Gustavo to render my services in the San Antonio Diocese. I was happy to come to the U.S. and arrived on November 15th, 2012, a most memorable day in my life.
I am very excited to be here in the U.S. and assigned as Parochial Vicar at San Fernando Cathedral. It is a great opportunity to serve the community of San Fernando under the guidance of beloved Fr. Victor Valdez. I enjoy playing cricket, table tennis and basketball. I like beef fajitas, tortillas and spicy food.
